Planet Zoo 2 already has third-party mods on Nexus Mods. The verified listings below cover scenery scaling, advanced-move hotkeys, Nature Brush filtering and Animal Trading/Storage tools. They are separate from Frontier Workshop blueprints, which use the game's integrated installer. We checked the author pages on 15 October 2026; we have not installed the files or tested their behaviour under update 1.0.4.
If you want a building, habitat design or decorative attraction, use our Workshop blueprint directory. If you want to change a tool or interface, compare the mod's exact purpose and installation notes below. A mod appearing in the catalogue establishes an available listing, not a universal compatibility or safety guarantee.
Verified Planet Zoo 2 mod listings
| Mod and original author page | Creator | Author-described purpose | Important limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xtreme Scaling | ViraLCyclopes | Extends modular decoration scaling to 0.1×–1000× | Author says it affects newly placed objects, not objects already placed before installation |
| Advanced move hotkeys — experimental | Kingfisher5 | Keyboard-driven scenery movement, rotation, scaling and axis locks | Experimental; the author does not guarantee expected behaviour |
| Nature Brush Category Filters | Gamerkohl | Adds category filtering to the Nature Brush template list | Filtering depends on category tags in the brush objects |
| PZ2QoL — Market and Storage Tools | 0Mike | Trading/storage gene badges, filters and error display | Early release; its optional market-listing feature is experimental and off by default |
This is a curated starting list, not a download-count ranking or an exhaustive catalogue. Download only from the linked original listing and read its current Files, Requirements and author notes. We do not mirror the files.
Xtreme Scaling: larger or smaller scenery
The author describes a wider scale range for modular decorations and says only newly placed objects receive the change. Existing placements are therefore the wrong test for whether the installation worked. The file page tells users to place the content in ovldata and lists no additional requirements; check the current archive and author's instructions for its exact layout.
The author warns that early modding and game updates may affect saves and asks users to back up. The listing's visible version field and changelog do not present the same version wording, so this guide does not normalise them into an invented release number. Check the actual file selected before downloading. The claim about sharing scaled content through Workshop is not independently tested here.
Advanced move hotkeys: inspect key conflicts first
Kingfisher5 describes Blender-style movement controls, axis selection and typed values. The author instructs users to copy the AdvancedMoveHotkeys folder into <game>/Win64/ovldata/ and restart the game. No other mod is listed as required. A configurable key file is described in the original page.
The author explicitly calls the release experimental. Review its keys against your existing controls before testing it on an important build. Do not install the original game's ACSE merely because its name appears in the technical explanation: this listing says ACSE is not required. Any claim about a future ACSE port is not evidence that such a port currently exists.
Nature Brush Category Filters: a focused browser change
Gamerkohl's listing describes twelve category filters based on the game's existing Nature categories, alongside search and favourites. The author also states that custom templates work when their objects have the corresponding tags.
The installation instructions specify extracting the archive, then copying the NatureBrushFilter folder into <game folder>/Win64/ovldata/ and opening the Nature Brush browser. The listed mod version is 1.0.4; that number alone does not prove compatibility with game patch 1.0.4. Treat mod version and game version as separate fields.
PZ2QoL: trading and storage interface additions
0Mike describes gene/ breeder/value scoring, market filter shortcuts, storage filters and a banner exposing server errors that otherwise leave menus waiting. The 1.1.0 listing dated 15 October 2026 describes installing the archive's Win64 folder into the Planet Zoo 2 game folder, resulting in Win64/ovldata/PZ2QoL/Main.ovl. The author says uninstalling means deleting the PZ2QoL folder.
These are the author's instructions and claims, not our installation test. The optional market lister interacts with Franchise trading; it is described as experimental and disabled by default. The interface additions should not be mistaken for a fix to Frontier's servers or a guaranteed market-price advantage. Check current author notes before enabling any online-facing feature.
Planet Zoo 2 Nexus, original Planet Zoo Nexus or Workshop?
| Content | Correct starting point | Installation distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Third-party sequel modifications | Planet Zoo 2 on Nexus Mods | Follow each individual author's current instructions |
| Community buildings and habitat designs | Planet Zoo 2 Frontier Workshop | Use Install Blueprint in the integrated Workshop, then My Installs |
| Original-game modifications | Planet Zoo on Nexus Mods | Original-game documentation does not establish sequel compatibility |
Do not assume a popular original Planet Zoo animal mod or tool will work in the sequel. Check the exact game, author, dependency list and supported version. Likewise, a Workshop sharecode identifies a blueprint; it is not a mod-loader instruction.
Before testing after an update
Make a backup appropriate to the author's instructions, record your game version and add one change at a time. Test with a disposable zoo or copy before relying on a mod in an important build. If a problem begins after installation, use that mod's documented removal steps before comparing the same scenario again.
Compare the symptom with Frontier's update 1.0.4 notes. The official update changed scaling controls, keybindings, blueprints, animal behaviour and parts of Franchise stability. A simultaneous game update is a separate variable; this guide does not attribute every new issue to a mod.
